Does this 2-pack contain two different teat flows?
You receive two teats in your selected flow: Extra Slow, Slow Flow, Medium Flow, Fast Flow or Thick Teat. Bottles and collars are available separately.
How do I match the selected option to the embossed teat mark?
Extra Slow is marked 0, Slow Flow 1, Medium Flow 2, Fast Flow 3 and Thick Feed Y. Check the mark on the teat itself before use, especially when you keep more than one flow at home.
Which option is Hegen’s teat for use from birth?
Extra Slow, marked 0, is the option labelled from birth. Slow Flow, marked 1, is labelled from one month; they are different flow rates. Follow your baby’s feeding response and any individual feeding advice.
What are the age guides for Slow, Medium and Fast Flow?
Hegen labels Slow from one month, Medium from three months and Fast from six months. These are starting guides; choose the flow your baby manages comfortably.
How does the Thick Feed option differ from Fast Flow?
Fast Flow is marked 3 for milk. The Thick Feed option is marked Y and uses a Y-shaped opening for thicker liquids. Choose it for an appropriate feed consistency, with your baby’s clinician’s guidance for thickened feeds.
Can every flow option fit the same Hegen collar?
Yes. The teat selection changes flow, not the Hegen collar connection. You can retain the collar and choose the bottle capacity separately from the teat.
How do I fit a new teat without trapping the edge?
Open the air vent gently, align the Hegen logos and pull the teat through the collar until snug. Press all four undersides into place, then add the transparent cover and attach the feeding head to the body.
How should I clean and replace a teat from this range?
Remove it from the collar after use and wash the underside and vent gently. Clean before sterilising and observe the silicone part’s 110°C limit. Replace about every three months, or sooner if damaged; never enlarge the opening yourself.
